WElcome to the thunderbird cabin

Your stay with us is coming up soon. We’re located at 1404 Northey’s Bay Rd. in Harcourt, Ontario, Canada.

We are so excited to be hosting you and hope you enjoy the cabin as we intended them with thoughtfully curated design and function. Here’s what you need to know about our property:

Back Story:

This property is owned by Michelle Berwick, an interior designer with our studio based in Newmarket and Gary Berwick, a builder and extraordinaire. We purchased this property over a year ago and have spent the past year renovating all three buildings. The old expression: blood, sweat and tears very much applies to the rebuild of the Thunderbird Cabin and we hope you enjoy all of the little details we’ve put into this amazing property.

How to Get In:

We have a lock box on the back side of the garage between the garage door and the door to the garage bunkie. The code will be sent to you prior to your stay to get in. There you will find labeled keys to each building.

G: Garage
GB: Garage Bunkie
C: Main Cabin
BH: Boathouse (the bottom level)
BHB: Boat house bunkie (the bedroom up top)

Air conditioning is available in the main cabin but not in the garage and boathouse bunkie. We have provided fans in those out buildings but suggest keeping the windows and doors open during the day in those buildings. It really cools off at night so as long as those are open to get airflow through you should have a very comfortable sleep in there.

Noise Rules:

We have a wonderful relationship with our neighbours and want to keep it that way. We want our guests to have the best time but we do ask that you be respectful of our other friends on the lake and keep loud music and noise to a minimum after 11 pm. Remember… voices carry over water.

Fireworks:

Please note that fireworks are prohibited at the Thunderbird Cabin. The use of fireworks will result in an immediate removal from our Cabin. They disrupt local wildlife and cause deer Mommas to abandon their young in fear and panic so it’s just a hard no for fireworks. 

Social Media:

We are on instagram @thethunderbirdcabin. Please tag us in any of your posts. We have so much fun seeing how our guests are experiencing and enjoying the cabin.

Septic:

We are on a septic system on the property and it is very effective. However, it will clog up if improper material is flushed down. Please DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper down the toilet including any feminine hygiene products. If you run into this issue there is a plunger in the main bathroom in the main cabin.

TOWELS, TP, FIRST AID, AFTERBITE, AND EXTRA SUPPLIES:

You will find all of these items in the Rattan Linen cabinet in the upper hallway between the bunk room and the main bedroom.

If you wish to shop the look, all of the accessories, pillows, candles, and decor are for sale. Browse through our shop page and purchase yourself some candles, room sprays, and room diffusers. They are also available up at the cabin on the fireplace. It’s on the honour system so if you would like to purchase please leave cash in the bowl or send an e-transfer to michelle@michelleberwickdesign.com for the total.
