Where did she go? SUMMER. Every year around this time we all sit around scratching our heads and think that went by in a blink. But the truth is we likely took advantage of every moment of sunshine we could and we have those memories to hold on to forever and frankly is summer just setting the stage for fall? I'm sure there are two schools of thought on that one but in my mind the answer is yes!

We are saying goodbye to the carefree unscheduled days of summer and welcoming the structure and cozy/creative 'lets do this vibe' of fall. Behind the scenes we have been working really hard all summer to pull together the MBD accessories line which we are ready to launch to you right now. Say what? YEP! you got it! click the link below and shop until you drop!

I wanted to give you the first crack at the can as everyone who subscribes to this newsletter is my biggest supporters, many of you have been cheering me on since the very beginning when I refreshed my mom's condo as my very first job. I've studied, learned, talked to trades, picked apart architects' minds, and been lucky enough to work alongside some of those most talented designers in the industry and I've learned a lot. Because of this support network of professionals, I have finally been able to carve out the time I needed to launch this idea that's been rattling around in my brain for years and years. We are going to start small as we always do and listen and learn and grow.

To start I am going to be offering a small curated collection of accessories, faux greenery, vases, decor, MBD candles and room sprays. You can order online but it will be in studio pick up only to start. Eventually, we will try and navigate the shipping world so that we can reach out-of-town folks but let us get our feet wet first.

The beauty of shopping the MBD line is that you won't just purchase a vase or greenery or a beaded necklace but we will show you how to use it. Styling is actually fairly straightforward once you get the hang of it. I'll help you don't worry. We will show you how we style these items in our projects and how it can really elevate your space from a fresh reno to a professionally styled project.

Let's do this!

My top 5 styling tips and tricks:
1. Add some height. One of the biggest errors I see when entering a space is a lot of little things, which get lost without any height to break it up. Here are the 3 big vases suggestions: The common vase, the tall bubble vase, and the tall Farley vase.
Our favourite combos are:
The bubble vase with the olive branches
The Common Vase with the trailing eucalyptus
The Shelvie Vase with the feather or curly eucalyptus
2. The Beaded necklace:

It's an MBD signature move and it couldn't be simpler. Lay one over a few books on your coffee table or bookshelf. Dangle it over a shorter vase. It's so simple and really helps to break up the monotony of hard surfaces and vases. Another common error I see, I often walk into a space and see all cases in a bookcase. Nothing else. No. Wrong. We need to break that up for a more layered curated look and the beaded necklace will help you achieve this.
3. The Tiger or Tigress:

I don't know why it's not a formula here, it is a feeling. But we have all fallen head over heels for this Tiger. It works everywhere and adds that little "i'm not too stuffy" vibe to any space. Place her on a coffee table, on your built-ins, on a dresser. It's so versatile. Go on, have a little fun, grab yourself a tiger. Every single MBD team member has it and here's how our designers have styled it in their spaces.
Shannon's Tiger
Robyn's Tiger
Ayla's Tiger
Shelvie's Tiger
Michelle's Tiger
4. The Faux Airplant:

As many of you know I fall into the black thumb category and it's a real problem. For years people would buy plants as gifts only to see them fall from grace weeks later. I have one snake plant in my house that thrives whether I water it or not and we get along just fine. So I've needed to take a look at faux greenery as an alternative. But there are just so many bad ones out there. So here's what I've learned, the good ones, the ones that look and feel real cost as much as a real plant. But you can't kill it. WIN/WIN right? Enter in... the faux air plant! I know what you must be asking yourself....is it possible to kill an air plant? Yep, it sure is. I'm living proof. So here's why a worry-free hack looks and feels real. Add it to your bookcase styling. Add three in our low white bowl and place that on your dining room table, on your kitchen island, on your coffee table, basically it goes anywhere. Simple. Easy. And effective.
5. Balls and Rainbows:

Did you read that right? Yep! not to worry, don't reach for your reading glasses. We have just been smitten kittens for all things ball and rainbow shaped lately. I don't need to tell you curves are in (a quick thanks for the Kardashians for all of the non size 2 ladies out there for making that cool) and it's no different in home decor. We've picked our favs to Amp up the style factor in your home
Rocky Rainbow and Rocky Stand
Bed & Breakfast Vase
Curvy Candleholder
So that's it for now. I don't want to overwhelm you with too many things all at once so i'll let those ideas marinate and I'll be back in a few months with holiday decor and styling ideas. Ive got your back. Changing a few items up seasonally can totally transform your living space as the seasons change.

I am so excited to share these styling tips and tricks with you and wanted to send out a big thank you for all of the support I have received already. I welcome the beautiful community we live in to come shop and hope that fellow designers and industry insiders feel inspired to style with this MBD as well.

As always....
Happy Decorating folks
